Orientation and development of expertise

Identification of previous skills as well as individual and comprehensive orientation guarantee a successful start to work tasks for new and advancing employees. Orientation secures successful starting points to new work and changing job assignments. By carefully implementing the orientation of our new personnel and those moving to new positions, we ensure that preparations have been made for the arrival of the new employee and that s/he is welcome to the new job. We continuously develop the process of systematic orientation, which has its own paths with regard to both general and job-specific orientation. The implementation of orientation is facilitated by the electronic Intro induction software, which is targeted at all professional groups. By looking after the implementation of orientation, we promote patient and client safety, the wellbeing of our staff, permanency, and commitment to the workplace.

Healthy, skilled and involved personnel are the pivotal factor of success in the Wellbeing Services County of Central Finland. Our goal is to ensure high-quality supervisory and management skill in addition to strengthening multi-professional knowhow. Continuous development of one’s own work and expertise is valued in the Wellbeing Services County of Central Finland. Staff have the opportunity to expand their knowhow within the wellbeing services county in different kinds of work tasks and by functioning in various work units.   Innovative operating models, devices and treatment equipment further the maintenance and extension of expertise in work tasks. A broad selection of various online materials and courses is also available.

Intro is a software program designed for the orientation of new employees. By means of Intro, orientation is systematic and can be monitored. With Intro induction software, new employees can familiarise themselves with the orientation tasks to be introduced to them in advance, and are thus able to monitor and anticipate their own induction. Intro can be used with a browser and on all mobile devices.

Orientation is carried out in Intro by using the common general orientation templates of the wellbeing services county and the units' own, task-specific templates. Orientation implementation is determined individually for the person receiving the introduction, so the responsibility for the orientation is shared between the people participating in it. With the help of Intro, the orientation is always time-bound and trackable, and is archived after the induction period ends.

The instruction guidelines of the Wellbeing Services County of Central Finland and the personnel and training plan guide the development of competence. The training provision is targeted in accordance with the competence needs and priority areas of the Wellbeing Services County of Central Finland. Training is carried out centrally as based on the training plan drawn up annually by the skills and development services division, in addition to which the units can organise instruction for their own personnel and staff can also participate in training organised by external operators as agreed. The training offer within the wellbeing services county can be viewed after receiving the organisation's IDs from the training and competence management system, and the instruction calendar from Juuri.
